Thinking about putting the streetglide mirros on my classic. But i'm concerned about seeing my shoulders inthe mirrors. And are they hard to install. They do look cool.
Coming off a Wide Glide, it took a lil gettin' used to....but like anything else it's just normal now to use them. Of course my SG came w/them, so I don't know about the install part of it. I think it's a cleaner look around the fairing & such compared to the handle mounted ones.....IMO.
Just installed the fairing mounted mirrors on my UC (liked the look), install is really upfront and easy, make sure the template is with the insructions, found a thread here were he moved the mounting location up and outward about a 1/4" - really made a big difference better view - did mine after initial install - covers holes - I would recommend doing the adjustment at initial install - could use some clear packing tape over the template to relocate the holes. Hope this helps some! Good luck!
Haven't put them on mine but have a buddy that put them on and he wishes he didn't. Claims he can't get use to the extra vibration in the mirror and restricted vision (but he installed them exactly by the template "too low").
They are really not that tough to install. They take a couple rides to get used to. You see your kmuckles not your shoulders. But after using them for a short while I liked them better than stock mirrors. I had read the thread about shiffting the template but I didnt do that. I have no problem with them at all. If you put them on be very carefull tightening them down. When my brother put his on he even used a touque wrench and broke two stems. I used the torque wrench in my hand and didnt have a problem.
