i agree with everyone else...The color matched inner fairing is a must have part & with all the chrome i have i think the inner fairing will be the last part giving me some glare
Got an 07 Silver RG. Imin the process of doing all of this right now. DEFINITLY finished off the bike. DEFINITELY have a local painter do it. You will save BIG BUCKS going that route! I'm also doing Burly Knuckle bars, chrome housings, switches, levers and grips all at the same time. I'll post pics when done!
I have a vivid black with small silver flake inner fairingon my EG with spun aluminum gauges--easily the best cosmetic mod I've done for the bucks--and I get to enjoy it every time I ride, while I'm riding. As others have done, I bought a take-off inner fairing and cap (from an HDF member), had them painted, then installed the painted pieces and sold my take-offs on Ebay--zero downtime.
Longhorn HD in Grand Prairie Texas did mine. They have it done locally and is actually cheaper than the HD piece. They do it to quite a few of their bikes they put on the floor. I got to tell you, until you have it done, you don't realize what a big difference it makes. If you don't want too much color, getting it painted black is always an option (similar to how the 2007 SEUC2's were done).
How much did they charge you to do that if you dont mind me askin?? would love to get it done and Longhorn is not that far away from me.
Thanks alot quad50after that picture I see what my next goal is. I can't take this crap! I don't have even rims yet, every time I turn around there is something [:@]
