I have an 04 classic, and the inner fairing isn't terrible, but it's not great. Was thinking of putting a a painted one on, and since my bike s black, paint it black. Does anyone have a black painted inner fairing? do you like it? Do you get much glare from it? thanks.
Very common to have your inner fairing painted, I had it done on my last bike, haven't done my present bike yet, but I plan to soon. Personally I think it makes the bike look better, never hed to many problems with glare.
I see you have FL listed for location. If you are near Jacksonville there is a guy on Craigs list who will do the whole job remove, paint, and install for around $300, plenty of people on the forum have used him, haven't heard anything bad, all good. I plan on using him soon. Just go to Jacksonville craigs list and look under motorcycles for sale, you'll find him.
I also have an 04 and wanted to spruce it up - had the inner painted black - looks cool but is a Dust magnet - after a few years - I would rather have it back stock.. Granted, it looks nice but I don't like the way it shows everything, IE - dust. But thats me..
A gloss black inner looks sweet on a black bike, I had mine for 2 years that way (just traded), but Harley0711 is right...if dust bothers you, fight the urge!

I hear you both. If I did the paint, I'd probably have to upgrade the gauges to make it look nice. MIne have 7 years on them and condensate all the time. Anyone have photos they can post of the painted black.

I dont have any pictures yet its all still covered up for winter, i will tell you that on a black bike it completes the look, when i had mine done all the guys at the shop said it was the best mod on the bike. i also updated the gauges with the chrome rings and it looks sweet. i really dont have that much problem with dust since its garaged and i keep it pretty clean.jd
