Has anyone figured out who might have bifocals? I really don't want to wear contacts, but I am thinking about the laser deal.

It really depends on how blind you are, I myself have a very large schrip and the only company that will make them is WileyX, the first set they made didn't work right and they took them back and are building me a new set on a differant frame to correct the problem. I have to give them at least an E for effert. I find that I have to have a sealed goggle for when it's cold outside, my Ray-Bans work down to about 40, behond that you have to have goggles, you also need googles on those days that the wind is blowing across the desert and raising a bunch of dust.

I dont have trasitional type lennes as they definatly dont get as dark for the big sun. I do carry a pair of wiley SGs with transitional lennes and gasketed for rain and dark riding. They also are great in the cold weather.

Best part is the Raybans get covered under my percription plan
+1 on Rayban and Lenscrafters, and right, no problem with tearing.

Oakleys work great.

I have a set of flak jackets and a set of half jackets and you can swap lenses between clear and tinted.

No issues with them in either combat or riding the bike.

My Opto recommended agains the transitions if you have a helmet, cap, hat or ride a cage. Will not darken.

(ask your eye doctor, and the prescription ground ones are the best!)

My Opto also strongly recommended against polarized lense for riding. Can't see water or oil, etc on pavement.

i got tired of messing with swapping glasses out, eyes drying out with contacts, all that, so i just went ahead and did the lasik. yes, it's expensive, but i got 18 months no interest so not so painful. its awesome to be able to see without all the hassles. got me to 20/15 and i can wear off the shelf sunglasses now.
