Default Prescription Sunglasses

Time has come that I'm going to have to get prescription lens in my sunglasses, what a rip!! Anyhow, has anyone tried any of the web based companies and sent a lens prescription in to have a pair made up? Were you happy with the end product? The local stores in my town will make them up for me but they want a lot more money for a pair then what is advertised in some of the web based store ads. If you have had good luck ordering a pair over the internet can you let me know the name of the store you dealt with
Thanks

Last year I ordered prescription sun glasses from www.opticsplanet.com.I got the WileyX Blink with transition lenses, they work very good with minimal distortion that you will get with wrap around lenses.Very easy to order on line, just bring the prescription sheet from their web site to your eye doctor to get it filled out.I had the rush order which only took 10 days as I live in Canada.

I've bought 3 or 4 pair from www.sportrx.com they are great to work with over the phone. I bought my first ones online, lost them, called sportrx, told them i'd lost them, they sent out new pair at a great discount price to me. I got the bolla spirals, work great!!! The web site is easy, just click motorcycle glasses and you choose. They have ones for thicker lenses also. Have a clear pair and DARK for daylite. All the major ones on there, panopts, Wiley's, etc, Mark

+1 on sportrx. I've bought 4 pairs from them over the last few years (dark lenses and clears). Great people to deal with.

From my personal experience,I recommend you steer clear of the Transitions for a serious sunglass replacment...while they are ok in some conditions, they dont get anywhere near dark enough for intense sunlight and mine have never, ever reached the point of clear,as in normal glasses...the TV ads are a bunch of crap...jmpo....:&gt

I buy all my glasses need at zenni.com, they have everything from soup to nuts, but you have to have a script and sizes of glasses you will need, and they are dirt cheap.

The main reason that I went with transitions lenses is that you
get wrap around eye protection day and night.Optics Planet is also very helpfull when you call their 1 800#.

Sportrx seems to have very good prices. I am looking at getting a pair myself.

WileyX were great to deal with directly.http://www.wileyx.com/EcommSuite/Pre...LinesPage.aspx- Have a look at their selection, choose a few frames you want to try, tell them you are just going to try them so they won't have lenses in them (you still have to buy all the frames you want to try). Once you choose the ones you want, they will credit you for the frames you don't want. Buying direct was about half the price of buying through a dealer or an Optometrist. Great glasses.

Ask yourself this question in all the years you just wore "sunglasses" did you feel the need for a gasketed style? I have found that Lenscrafters who use Raybans have some great tight fitting frames that work great for riding. I very seldom have an issue with tearing except in really cold weather. I dont have trasitional type lennes as they definatly dont get as dark for the big sun. I do carry a pair of wiley SGs with transitional lennes and gasketed for rain and dark riding. They also are great in the cold weather.

Best part is the Raybans get covered under my percription plan
