you are right about the bassani...coating is good for about year....it peels turns white, purple...kinda fun to watch a pipe turn into a 50$ home-made pipe. we have been sending all our 2-1's into jet hot. been taking a bout 2 weeks. just got a t-header back with the three 3 piece shields and it ran 180 bucks with shipping. gloss black looks great !!!! we have one on a bagger thats about 7 years old and it looks like the day it was new......jet hot is also super easy to deal with...
Black Fat cat is high temp paint on the muffler and tins, ceramic on the headers. The pipe in my opinion is quite warm and I removed it for that reason alone. Sound and performance....Awesome!
It was so hot it was uncomfortable so you removed the pipe? Did you think it was hotter then the stock pipes? By tins I am assuming you mean you had the heatshields on it as well then. Thanks for the info I still love the look of the fatcat.
This is good to know CigarC because I dont think my stock pipes are uncomfortablely hot. Mysoftail had some damn hot pipes, even wrapped. Thanks for you info man.
