Default Fairing mounted GPS

I have the Deadcenter fairing for my Road King and was wondering if anyone has thought about mounting a GPS on the fairing just above the radio.

I currently have my Zumo on a RAM mount on the handlebar and was thinking it would be nice to get it off of there and more in the line of sight on the fairing.

It would need to be mounted close in on the faring with some up and down adjustment I would think.

I have the same setup, Deadcenter on a RK classic with the Zumo 550. What I did was buy an extra handlebar cover from ebay and got just the ball from Ram drilled a hole for the ball and mounted the rest of the ram mount to that ball and it came out looking pretty good. The bonus of doing it this way is in the summer some times I like to take the fairing off and run with just the stock windshield. Looks good.... let me know if you want I'll take some pictures for you.

Thanks for the info. Pictures would be great.

I just don't care for it on the handlebars.

I think you misunderstood my discription, I drilled a hole in the handlebar (riser) cover and mounted it there. I didn't mount to the fairing so I could remove the fairinf when I want and still have the Zumo mounted out og the way. I'll take some shots tomorow and send them to you.

I hope they help you out. I rode for the first time today since I did the remount and it's in the perfict spot. I used to have it mounted to the handle bar on the throttle side, this is much better.

has anyone attemtpted to mount a garmin 2720 to their bikes? I saw somone who did it in TX, looked kinda good auctually, but I'm concerned about the size of the thing. Thought I would mount it on the clutch side of the handlebar.

Any opinions?
