What do you think?

No tool kit?? I have a pretty good tool kit at the house, better than the ones that would come with a vehicle...

No internal bike storage?? I have short legs, if you add any height to put this under the seat, then i wouldn't be able to reach the ground. saddlebags, tourpak and windshield bag work pretty good for me.

No center stand?? I don't care for center stands. so i'm glad that you added one to yours but no thank you, don't want one.

My 2000 Yamaha 650 did not have a center stand..bought it used so have no idea if it had tool kit. I had bags...if you used the mini compartment to store papers you'd **** the cop off while he waited for you to disassemble the bike.

Hubbys 2003 Honda VTX 1800 did not have a center stand, had a small too kit, had a side compartment that again would have the cop pissed off if you stored the papers there.

My HD Deluxe...I will concede had nothing with it....but then I didn't care. It was coooooollllllll..... I could have put the papers under the seat...there was room.

My Ultra has a tool kit, a place specifically to hold the Manual, but no center stand.

Hubby's new Wing... has tool kit, storage in the bags, and a center stand.

Of5 bikes only 1 has a center stand, all but 1 had aa tool kit, and all some sort of storage. With both Harleys I got extras(shirts, gloves, etc)...with the Wing we got nothing.

Hey everybody! I really just wanted to post for the first time and see if it works OK. Just took delivery on a '08 Ultra, Copperhead Pearl / Red Hot,(quite a step up from my '97 Sporty). Anyway, it came with a tool kit and bag liners that I really didnt expect(plus all the other goodies that come standard on the Ultra). Also got the dealer to throw in the laced smooth wheel option at n/c,2 t-shirts, 2 NICE 105th anniversary button up shirts, a HD trash can for our bedroom, 20% discounton all clothing / parts / accessories for 60 days, and waive the shipping and setup fees. My experience was VERY enjoyable and I feel I was very fortunate in the "extras" department.

I always wished they would let you change out your seat and handlebars to a more comfortable one/set specifically for you.....for the price of the damn bike,it would help if it was REALLY rideable right out the freakin door

and yeah the service manual would be a nice touch...

------------------------------------------------------------- hmm...u did better than i did..my finiancing fell through on the spot...had to go with hd eagle1........the way the credit guy was rubbing his hands together and looking at me while i signed off my next 7 years paychecks....my god im not even gonna tell u the interest rate...i thought i was gonna have to give him a bj ............funny thing is after riding every used import that i could afford in the world..... i wanted to kick my self in the head for not doing it 20 years ago...............im going back for another ***-kicken in exactly 71 more payments...........at least i smile when i write that check..........hd and most buyers are aware that they only put just enough goodies to get u to buy the bike..knowing they will be seeing u real soon.............i would prefer if they sold the bikes more stripped down so that u could afford to put the stuff on u like....hell a few more trips to the dealer and my take off pile is gonna weigh more than my bike ....i got hard bags so built in storage not a prob.....but for the guys that dont i would think at least a tool set under the seat would be cool. hell what would 1 more payment be...bottom line.. i love my bike......myself and a lot of other riders still think hd could have done just a little more ...but u know what they say................u can make some of the people happy some of the time but my wife is pissed off all the time......or somthing like that.......every1 keep the rubberside down and enjoy the time they have left

At least the dealer threw in a free t-shirt!

My buddy "The Reverend" just bought a new street glide and there was a harley tool kit in the saddlebag when he brought it home. Mistake?? Either way, I sure wish my RK had come with one of those.
I got a sweet little plaque with my bike and my name on it too... haha
I wish they would have thrown in a Nightster for my wife!

C'mon guys!
For decades part of the beauty of the Harley has been its simplicity. They intentionally have left things simple on it. That is what has worked for them so that is what they continue to do. If they started adding a bunch of crap you know the first thing we would be doing is ripping it back off again to make it like they used to be or to be making it how we want it to be. How many of us have a garage full of useless stock parts? Think of how much money we would have all saved if the bike came with no seat or exhaust.
