Do you think Harleys should include some extras at purchase?
But I wanted oneso I bit it, it's simple supply and demand, butI'm wellaware that Harley'sper unit profit is unequaled.
Careful boys "Theres a trader amongst us"
If so, I hope you aren't talking about me.
Wow, I guess you can't question anything Harley. Instantly makes you the "bad guy".
Ever see a Metric tool kit ? WTF you going to do with that. $10 bucks at Harbor Freight and you got that beat bad.
Center-stand (I have one) what metrics come with those now ?
I just don't think you made a case for Harley including that stuff with the bike is all.
You'll find lots of die hard HD Men and Ladies questioning the MOCO here but for better reasons.
Good luck and ride safe
Hey relax! I was just making an observation. I know that Harley owners are loyal, but blind loyalty is dangerous in any situation. There's nothing wrong with expecting more, even from Harleys. If that wasn't the case, they'd still be making engines that leaked oil all over the place and vibrated parts off as they ran.
You made the comment about Fords and Chevys? Well, if other car manufacturers offered al lot of extras at half the price then you'd demand it of Ford and Chevy too.
And center stands work just fine on a big bike. Don't believe it, ask someone with a Wheel Dock!!
Fact is, if you want aHarleyyou're going tohave to accepta very different value proposition. Those of us who own and ride other bikes see this clearly, there is no way my RKC is a better quality pieceor certainly a better value than my BM or Honda.

I think a lot of the folks who have replied here missed my original point. I wasn't talking aboutT shirtsor other silly tokens and sh&*t given away a purchase time by any given dealer. I was talking about items designedfor or intothe bike or given accessories designed to be included with the bike at the factory. For what we paid for the bikes, the things I'm talking about shouldn't effect the price whatsoever. They would just be nice touches. If you don't like them, take them off, like I did with my stock mirrors, which I though sucked.
If youare old enough to remember, American car companies offered next to nothing during the 70's and so had to get in gear when Japanese imports offered an awful lot for not much money.
I got plenty of cool stuff. Plaque, t shirt. Pretty damned usefull tool kit. Manual. and a bj from the credit lady. I wasn't complainin.
I'm switching dealerships. All I got was an hj with no happy ending.

You answered your own question, if they fixed the leaks and not losing parts anymore why would you need a tool kit.

Yeah right. Nothing could ever go wrong now.
My buddy and i was setting at a stop light yesterday and he just bought his new Harley so we were getting a little ride in so he can get used to the bike. The car in front of us had 2 women in it looking back at us and one got on her knees and gave us a shot and he said what was that for and i said they come with your harley.... you wont get that from a Honda
I go to Birmingham Alabama every month and someone will take our picture and every once and a while a frre shot comes along.
The tool kit is only a part of a tool kit. I spent $30 and made my own, it is complete even got a tire plug.
The things that do come with the Harley the metrics or others can not provide. If you have to ask then you will not understand.

Of course I'm probably just a blind loyalist.
