OK, There are no huge pictures on this page so what's causing the thread to be so distorted? I can't figure this one out.

Terry

Nevermind, I fixed it. Weet, when you put these in >>>>>>> they stretch out the thread too wide for some reason. I removed a few hundred out of your above post. Now you can read the thread without having to scroll over to the right.

My 1st post on the Roadie thread. Just posted on a similar touring thread. Mine is an '06 RG. Gonna get around to posting pics. Previously owned a '98 RK and we wre together for over 100K until I parted ways with it for 10 grand cash. Started to take notice to the RG model for a few years, and put me over the edge on my most recent X-country jaunt in '05. Not a single negative responce from any owner I spoke to. I get the feeling the Roadie is that "undiscovered" niche in the Harley lineup. Maybee we shouldnt let the cat outta the bag??
Did something I never did with a new scoot this time. Instead of procrasternating (spelled right?) about doing stuff I would want to do and taking like 6 years to getter done, this time made sure it was a "turn key" event. Cost $$$ sure, and hell yea I enjoy wrenching but I was gonna spoil my *** this time. Took delivery with the SE-6 speed w/true OD, premium oil cooler kit, police fan kit, saddlebag lid spoiler kit (luv the added safety of the lights) and all the detachable hardware kits because this one I had made into my own RoadGlide "ultra" with the King tour pack. I kept ALL my accessories I needed from the RoadKing , installed the Mustang sport touring seat and I had a new set of crashbar protective lowers off the King (the material clip ons-not the snap on leather ones) and had them modified to fit around the frame mounted fairing brackets. I expected to pick up w/ the 95" stageII kit but was a delay in the release so waited 2 weeks and brought her back for the mods. I opted for the color Black Pearl. My RK was vivid black and showed dust and dirt like a mother-you-know-what. Yessir, first time I EVER actually ordered a bike EXACTLY specifically to my liking. Oh yea, the ol'lady hates passenger floorboards so I lifted the peg kit off the King as well and donated to the Glide. I installed KromeWerks HP touring slip ons which offer major bang in Torque without attention of THE MAN, and Im partial to Harleys "black texture" handlebar grips pn 56285-98. Only thing left to do is install my LONG stem mirrors which should be STOCK on all Roadies dammit! Jeesh, they think were only 16" wide? They are waiting for me at the dealership.
I cant add a thing to what ya'll have said about the bikes attributes. I ride HARD, and long and enjoy leaning it as far as I can just as fast as I can whenever I can. It outhandles my '98 RoadKing with EASE, and would embarrass my '94 Dyna I once owned. Definetly an enjoyable machine! Hey thanks to whomever way back when for the thread. TOM

Well here it goes. HOPE to get some pics on this post. Im still a proud "dinosaur" in the photography dept. Digitalia has not been my fetish. Back to business, finally installed the longstem mirrors which make all the difference in the world. I can now get a POSITIVE I.D. before I begin to shoot at them. Pardon any "dust" you may see, Im @ 34 mi. from the Marcus Dairy which I frequent during "off-season" for Sunday breakfast with a few other touring buddies from all over the area. Im usually the only American made bike who shows up most in the very cold weather. Anyhow she aint REAL clean the roads are still pretty sanded.[IMG][/IMG]
