Finally got it out last night in balmy 35degree weather and DAMN!!! Did the break in roll on roll offs as per several members on here (30-60 10x in 3rd). Man it was hard to keep the rpms down it just spools up so quick! I can't wait to get the break in miles out of the way so I can get a good tune on it and see what its got! I just used a map for the PCIII USB that was for a somewhat similar but not really build and it runs good, but I know its not quite right. Anyways, thanks again to those that helped and FYI it sounds freakin AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even my buddy who is a big fan of the Thunderheader was impressed by it.
Manish-Hawg, that made me crack up! When I began researching a build, the one thing that I wanted was more power but the last thing that I wanted was all power. I wanted a good solid build that would last for a very long time and be uber reliable which is what I believe Igot. When it makes it to the dyno, it will be exactly for what PhilM said, to get the tune right. All I know is that with it being so new and so ready to go already, it was hard to keep the restraints on and my buddy even yelled at me "NOT YET!!!" when we came to a nice red light last night. For me, it won't be hard for it to whoop the 65hp/75tq it had prior to this build. I would like to see over 100/100 but if its bulletproof, it'll be better than another friends 127" that goes like hell for a minute, then breaks, then gets fixed, then goes like hell, then breaks.....
Just one of the things i like about the HQ builds is the quickness of the motor, these motors spool so quickly, that the term "wiind (sp) em' out" is kind of an oxymoron........there ain't no 'wind(sp) em' about it......they are just there.....zero to WFO in a flash. And that is what makes a fast bike.......I don't care if I go 120 MPH, i care about going to 0-60 NOW!!!!!! I built my motor for the purpose of getting to speed fast, not going fast.....when I read about guys that say, "you have a bagger, it's for cruising, not drag racing", I just shake my head and say, I can cruise all day long, I just like to get to cruising speed faster than you.
