Default Handlebars

Hello,

I just purchased a 2007 HD Road King and I have a few questions. First off, i'm 5'9" and I am looking for handlebars that will give me an additional pullback of 2 to 3 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions. Also, what will I need for the switch? It seems as though there is enough length in the clutch and throttle cables, and it looks like i'll need a new brake line for sure. Any imput is appreciated. I put a set of risers on my last bike, so i've been through this before.

thanks,

joel

Check out the RK bars offered by Wild1. They have 2 different sets for the RK. Great bars, run wires internally and you can massage the brake line enough to make them fit without replacing it unless you just want to.

I just did the chrome Heritage Classic bars, HD P/N 5662399, $49.95 + tax. I am also 5'9". Couldn't ride with the stock bars for more than 30 minutes before pain would set in on my neck and shoulders. Now I can ride for hours in comfort - the pain went away with the stock bars !

Best and cheapest mod I've ever done on my '07. You can keep all the stock cables and the brake line only needs to be straightened out a bit, done by hand. If you want to use the stock left handgrip, wearing a leather glove and a hefty twist will get it off. Make sure you use a shop manual and follow all the directions to a "T" and you won't go wrong.
Hope this helps.

Check out this link I did when I changed my bars out to the Street Slammers on my 06 RK Classic: www.hdforums.com/m_2638654/tm.htm Good luck with your project

Thanks for the imput guys. I rode about 110 miles today, as it was in the mid 50s. Great weather for April in WI. The bars bugged me a little, but the bike was awesome. I'm going to try the heritage classic bars first, as i'm a little bit of a cheapskate. I will let you know how it goes.
