Default Grip replacement for 2008 Touring

Bought new stealth grips for my 08 FLHTC today.Instructions seem to be pretty simple. Are there any secrets or trouble spots that I should be aware of to put them on or is it as easy as it appears to be?

Easy, just open up the housing to release the grip and give a little tug on it and it will come off.

Follow the instructions... you need to do the left grip first so the you can align the left grip when you slide it onto the TBW gear tooth which is mounted inside the bar. Yea, learned by experience, also beward of the brake switch plunger in the housing (follow the directions and put in a spacer or you WILL {I did} replace a brake switch). Easy job though.

Just like nridge said above. Make sure the throttle side grip gets seated with the gears engaged (married?) with each other. I had heard some people think they slipped the grip on and thought they were done. They they could not figure out why the throttle did not work after. OOOOOOOOOOOOPs.

When I had my Fat Boy I had my grips changed to some cool looking half chrome things. I wish I would have stayed stock. Love the stock grips and will never change them

nridge128, I'm thinking you meant to say put the throttle grip (right one) on first and get it mated with the TBW and then you can always move the left one around to match the right ones pattern. Just by opening up the switch housing on the right to remove the throttle grip you shouldn't have to worry about the brake switch. The only time you really have to worry about that is if you are replacing the levers. This is a very easy install, you can do it !!!
