I'm trying to decide to decide which set of slip-ons to go with? Supertrapp SE or Screaming Eagle?
I do have one additional question - Who makes the current Screaming Eagle Slip-ons? Where are they made? Harley is making so much crap in China I just want to make sure the current Screaming Eagle slip-ons are not made there should I decide to go that route.
I am actually running the Supertrapp's and they sound good especially with true duals. I believe the SE's and the Supertrapps are the same pipes. Harley actually stopped producing the SE's and Supertrapp continued on with the design.
Harley went to a different manufacturer. I just don't know who it is. I will be running the stock headers. I already ran true duels and didn't like how the bike ran. The SupperTrap SE and the current Screaming Eagles are a different muffler.

Sounds like you needed to use some sort of fuel mang.

Take a look at the V & H Monster Ovals.
I had two different fuel management systems on the bike and even had the engineers at Thundermax work on the bike for two days straight at bike week. Neither SERT or ThunderMax ran worth a crap on my bike. I'm pretty certain that at least one revision of the ThunderMax maps for my setup was a direct result of their engineers working on my bike. I'm pretty picky about how a motor runs and a know a lot of guys are happy with a hand full of good throttle but there is a whole lot more to an engine running well than that. I know the setup I want, I'm just trying to decide between the two.
I beleive with the Supertrapp you can add or take away the disk,s & change the end caps from a open to a closed end to move around the power range you may be looking for???
If you go with the Supertrapp 2 into 1 you can add or take away discs to adjust the volume of sound. I'm currently running the 06 S E Touring Performance Mufflers made by Supertrapp and don't like the jack hammer sound out on the open road; don't know how the newer Supertrapp
S E's sound or if they're the same. I plan on getting rid of my 06 S E's for a set of the new S E Street Perfomance Touring Mufflers or a set of the Fuel Moto Rush modified pipes. http://fuelmotousa.com/rush_fuelmotohttps://www.hdforums.com/m_2534631/tm.htm
I agree with billybob on the "jackhammer" sound, very well put. LOL
I think on more stock motors they work somewhat better but with high compression motors, that "jackhammer" is really popping.
Took my stock headers off and the Supertrapps. Went to Rinehart trueduals with standard baffles. Much more power now, especially mid and high end. Better sound but it is louder. Gas mileage actually went up 3 mpg!!! Dyno tuned and he dumped fuel into this motor and it has much more power than ever and better mileage. I don't understand how or why but it does.
I had a set of the se with turn downs and "jackhammer" is a good description. I told the wife it sounded like somebody chopping wood.
I put a set of supertrapp slip ons with fishtails on the bike. man is it quiet. I put all the discs in, still sounded like a sewing machine.
I took all the discs out and now it sounds good. I had to lean the midrange from where it was with the SEs so it wouldn't burble on acel.
still quiet at idle. so I am getting some back pressure. 1997 ulta evo. It's running good now very little popping on decel.
It is ALOT quieter than my wifes 1999 FXR2 screaming eagle 2 into 1 that is a loud bike.
(hijack)Does anybody know if that 2 into 1 muffler takes supertrapp disc? I have a pile of them.
