RE: installing floor board extensions without a jack?
I actually have a jack but had no desire to use it when installing my floorboard extensions. Just follow the directions. It will warn you that when you do the left side, you are removing 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the kick stand in place.
I REALLY like my floorboard extensions. Makes the ride much more comfortable.

I didn't use a jack and had no problems.
+1
Just carefully removed the two bolts from the jiffy stand bracket without disturbing the bike and causing any movement until I had reinstalled those bolts. The rest can be reached and done without any need to lift the bike.
RE: installing floor board extensions without a jack?
Question: Are the floorboard extensions that you are talking about for the rear floor boards? And if so, where did you get them? I just put on RH True Duals and the left pipe is awfully close to the Missus' leg. I need to extend that out for her. I also have an 08 SG.
