I have a 2007 Electra Glide Classic and I love the bike, but I'am discovering the stock pipes just aren't getting it done sound wise. Feel's like I'm sitting on a goldwing. I would like a little more of the Harley rumble, but not to extreme, soI can save what little hearing I have left and enjoy the radio. Any advice from fellow baggers would be greatly appreciated. This is new to me and what other uprades will I need besides an AC.. Thanks all and happy and safe trails..
Go where others on bikes gather and listen to their pipes. You're going to get a lot of recommendations but without hearing the pipes you're just rolling the dice.
I have an '07 FLHTC just had the Rush FuelMoto Pak installed. It consists of aPCIII,high flow air cleaner,Rush FuleMoto Mufflers( which consists of left muffler has a anti-reversion cone w/1 3/4" baffle, and right muffler a 2" baffle).Jamie at FuelMoto claims with this set-up you can expect the same horse and torque specs of a 103" motor.I love mine to death. It flat hauls the mail.Ride Safe
To me Rineharts sounded the best, I didn't like the tips so I went with Bub 7. Awesume sound to me. You will get 100 different sugestions from 100 different ppl. Do what Skivvy9r said, go some where like a Stealer and listen to other ppl's pipes. Oh ya, Welcome to the forum.
I have the 1.75" Rush slip-ons and love em. Rush slip-ons with2" baffles or smaller (2.00", 1.75" or 1.5")dont require any other mods. The 1.75" baffles are louder than Screamin' Eagle Street Performance mufflers (very close to stock imo)and quieter than Rineharts. Very deep sound and the baffles are interchangeable.
I have the fuel moto setup with the PCIII, Rush mufflers with the custom baffles and a SE breather on my 08 Road King. I does run and sound great. I like it because you can hear it, it's deep and mellow, but not so loud as to wear you out over a days ride. I run a lot of 400+ mile days and alot of the slip-ons out there will deafen you or just plain wear you out after 4 or 5 hundred miles. And I've ran a few mufflers: Bassani fuelies, Sampson Stealth, Sampson rolled Ovals, Rolling Thunder, Kerkers and Supertrapp Super Elites (SE).
The only ones That didn't flat wear me down after 500 miles were the Rush Custom Baffled ones from Fuelmoto and the Supertrapp SE. The Supertrapps are actually a little louder but not bad at all. Both, performed better than any of the others except the Kerkers. The kerkers performed very well but got progressively louder after the first 3000 miles until @ around 12000 they were just obnoxious and needed repacking.
I also run D&D standard baffled 2-1 on my Ultra SE. They are a little loud but the type of growling tone they put out is actually not annoying at all. I've run numerous 500+ days with them and find the sound of them totally within reason.
I went with the SE slip ons and they are not quite what I wanted. They are too quiet really, just a hair louder than stock. I wanted 2 hairs louder. Think I'm going to give the SuperTrapp SEs a try next. I heard them and they sound like what I am looking for. I like to hear the radio at high way speeds too.

+1 I have the same setup on an '07 roadie and it rocks. I am very satisfied and I looked at everything out there before I purchased. Jamie will ship it to your door for $749.00 that's a bargain. Britt
I went with Rush slip on with 2" baffles. I love the sound and the quality is excellent. The price was decent as well.
The sound quality is exceedingly better than the stock HD muffler.
Visit your dealership. They often have a few bikes sitting around with different mufflers on them. Just ask to hear them and make a decision based on factual knowledge.
