Does anyone know how to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm on an 08 ultra. My 03 v-rod is adjusted through the turn signals, but there is no mention of adjustments in the manual for the ultra. Someone stole one of my mirrors and both of my guard bags. during the day yesterday. I believe if the alarm would have gone off they would have probably walked away.
Look in the DIY section of this forum there is an alarm section. It has a post on setting the alarm sensitivity Clap
That is only for 2006 and earlier bikes with the key fob that has the push button....To my knowledge, there's no way to set sensitivity on the 2007 and up models...
I thought that I had missed a sectionin the manual but after reading the post here I went to the dealer to purchase new mirrors and guard bag, asked how to adjust alarm. It seems I have to bring it in for an adjustment on the computer. I'll repost after it's done.
Now that ya'll mention it, I also have to shake my 07 pretty hard to get the alarm to go off... I'd be pretty ticked if I came out and found parts missing off of my bike, knowing the alarm was set!!!
Yep, it seems the problem is we always have our keys in the pocket and in my case the fob is with it. I never realized how rough you could be with the bike before the alarm would go off. I wanted to go with the screaming eagle mirrors but opted for the new teardrop with convex built in. If you all are running guard bags it might be a good idea to install some small lock through the leather and around the guard rail. At least if they do take it it will be torn up.
