My 06 RK Classic wobble was a cracked motor mount and some loose spokes. It disappeared after I adressed these 2 issues....The Doon Man

My 05 EGC, 03 Ultra, and 05 RK all have or had the wollow. If you look at the Buell isolation system it is triangulated, if you add the TWR, ridestr8, tru-trac systems it adds the 3rd link that is missing. Only letting the swingarm move in the vertical plane, eliminating the yaw, which is what you are feeling when the bike gets unsettled.

Up front information. I have been riding bikes since I was 15. I am 61 now. I have put a few miles on a bike. That being said:

I damn near lost control a few times a couple of years ago. I was entering a mile sweeper on a freeway at about 50 and thebike started wobbling violently. It was scary as hell. And that was not the first time it happened. My solution was, I repacked the front end head bearings. rebuilt the bushings (cleve blocks) on the swing arm, installed ride str8 axel adjusters and therelocter link. I have not experienced that feeling since. It was last spring that I did these mods and I have gone through that same sweeper with no problems. Nor have I had that experience anywhere else again

For those of you that think this isBS your full of your own excrement. Once you have it happen you will no longer be so high and mighty and have trouble believing that it is a real problem. I personally believe it is a problem that occurs after a lot of miles are put on the bike but that is my opinion. I have owned this bike for almost 10 years now and ride a lot. This last paragraph is editorial and shoud be taken as such. I woun't bore you doubters anymore on this subject

I put on a tru trac and found the bike handles better. Planning on a complete rebush and newstabilizer joints this winter. yes, Winter is coming! Bought the alignment tool and am looking forward to using it. The bike '02 FLTR was soft in the twisties untill the TT but I can't say I got a wobble from it. Like the feeling better now.

Put a true track ,ride str8.,txr or whatever on and your bike will be on rails. I
don't think using the beefier s/arm bushings should be used w/ one of these
links. Too stiff ?? Your bike doesn't handle until you install one of these links.
Align the motor/wheels/frame etc.then install, OMG you'll be . If you
have spokes check them , tire press. and air in shocks. Steve

Had my 2000 RG go into a violent shimmy/wobble at about 75-80 a while back.Adjusted the steeing bearings and the problem was completely eliminated. I suspect that this incident may have led to my swingarm breaking on the left side just in front of the axle slot.

This may sound stupid but back in the day when you ran air shocks on your car to jack it up I used to run seperate air lines to each shock. This eliminated the sway when cornering I was told so maybe the swingarm is flexing and there is some sort of transfer of pressure from one shock to the other and creating some kind of bounce back and forth so to say.

OK I'm ready, hit me....................
