OK, so this wobble every one is talking about is common to the FLT series bikes. I wondeer if any one has it so bad like mine that going straight down the road you feel like you are riding on a grooved road all the time. My 99 ultra has this feeling all the time. New tires, steering head bearings, swing arm bearings all new. Wheel alighnment good, but still I can't make this bike want to go straight. Any additional thoughts would be apreciated. Next move to improve may be an upgraded frame. Dang that's a lot of work. Keep the forum strong and the shiny side up fella's.
I have never felt any wobble so I don't have any idea what you all are talking about. The fastest I've had my bike up to is about 95 MPH or so and never felt a thing. I have also never felt anything in higher speedsweeping turns.
I have 3500 miles on my 07 EGC and noticed the wobble last week for the first time ever. Scared the crap out of me, as I was on the interstate. At first I thought maybe it was the pavement.
Now I am noticing it just riding around town. I am not pleased that I spent 20K to get a bike that scares me when I ride it. If the MoCo is aware that these beasts wobble, then for crying out loud they should have addressed it. I should not have to go buy "fixes" to get rid of the problem. Unreal. We as consumers accept this from the MOCO and willing go and buy fixes. I don't and will bring it to thier attention.
I actually logged on today to look for just such a topic.
I hate to sond negative, but the wobble I had was so bad that I thought I was going down. I went down 2o years ago and still got the pain and suffering to this day. I'll be damned if I go down becasue the bike is poorly engineered.
By the way, no passenger, no luggage and I weight 205.
I've been trying like hell to create this wobble on my 08 RKC. Today I hauled some 85mph a$$ on some straights, sweepers, and pushed it hard on entrance and exit ramps. Don't havea clue what everyone is talking about. This thing feels firmly planted, unlike my FXSTB.
In respnse to GOLD WINGS don't wobble,I've owned 2 of the 1800's (2001 & 2005) and both had front forks that shook like crazy if you let go of the bars.Always had to have hold of one grip. It's a known problem with that model and none other.I now have the best of both worlds, Valkyrie interstate and FLRCI when I'm without bride.
I didn't want to come off like I didn't believe you guys...I do. Is this a problem that appears after a couple thousand miles, or just on a few bikes. I was really ripping some curves again this evening and can't produce it. Probably a good thing, because I haven't done my underwear laundry and this is my last clean pair.
