'08 TBW issues...How many?
Exactly! The same people that claim that Harley should have never put TBW on a bike but have never riden one with it are the same people that will vote they've had problems. So nice idea but don't count on it being anything to accurate. Just like the post saying he had his back 7 times but failing to mention if any were TBW issues. I doubt if his vote will be biased in anyway
I have an 08 Ultra w/1600 miles and it has been in the shop 7 times.
This is the biggest POS motorcycle I have ever owned. And I have been through about 25 of them.
And my dealer is just as much a POS as the bike!!
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Over 2100 miles on the 08 Ultra. No problems of any kind and no complaints.
Same here, 08 RoadKing, owned the bike for 8 monthswith no problems.
The twist gripsensor isn't an on or off switch. It's a variable signal just like any other sensor that the ECM monitors.A damaged orshort circuited twist grip sensor CAN NOT CAUSE ACCELERATION.
If the ECM doesn't get signals from the twist grip sensor that arewithin pre determined parameters it may go into any number of limp home modes but WILL NOT ACCELERATE. Accelerationof the engine iscontrolled bythe ECM through the throttle control actuator,,,,a butterfly withan electric motor attached to itfor you carb guys.
A damaged, malfunctioning or improperly installed cruise control could possibly cause an acceleration issue but that would have nothing to do with TBW and would cause the same problems with pre08 models. The buttons on the cruise are simple switches,,,, on or off. Improperly installed or malfunctioning cruise control buttons or wiringcould tell the ECM that the operator is trying to increase the speed of the bike.
I did rumor that air horns will deflate your tires though,,,,,, just saying
