I didn't see your last question Indeed do the 30t sprocket thats instant power and you will love the gearing sometimes when I'm in 6 i feel like upshifting more

Whatsfunny is when meeting with various indy's some of them will get offended if you bring up HQ or GMR as they want todo builds there way Kinda like going into a kitchen and telling the cook how to cook adiff way.

I was lucky I found a awsome builder here in the bay area They are hard to find.

Good Luck again

Thanks Darren!

Pounder is right in that a lot of shops don;t have 08 heads to swap as cores. Head-Quarters bought several sets of brandnew 08 heads for thier own inventory, for this very reason. As you cna imagine, thats a moderately pricey undertaking so I do not know how many they have in rotation at this point, but they areproactively addressing the issue.

We all are looking for something different I guess. I would just suggest a philosophy check. LOL
I know us baggers guys are always looking for something that will allow our leadsleds to amaze us and everyone around us. While I will give you that some people do really use their bikes the way they say ... two up touring dudes with their wives, trailer pulling camper guys with all their goodies and the in town short dragsters. SO many times I see "I just want a bike that will pull hard off the line, it's all about low end torque". Well maybe I suppose, but I was that guy at first as well. Think about it, how do you really want to run your bike, are you really going to run at 3000 rpms and lower. My guess, if you are like me, is not really. While it is fun to leap ahead of your buddies off the line, it really sucks when they blow by you after a few hundred feet.
I suggest that most guys really want a bike that will build power and carry the torque into mid and high rpms.
I've changes mine to reflect this and it is MUCH faster thanit was with all that low end torque, it would just plain run out of ***** after you got going.
I guess all I am saying is when you are building a motor, consider any future changes, don't modify yourself into a corner so to speak.
I see it quite often on here ... "my 103 with 203 or 211 cams and minor head work is great but how do I get more power". Well as some have replied, pull all that crap out, sell it on e-bay and start over.

JMHO,
U

THANKS for all the input guys. I will call Doug or Kevin and make plans for the 107. Based on how my SG (the wifes SG ) runs with the cams and 30 tooth, the 107 will be just fine.

By the way, we got that glitch at 1800 rpm's fixed on the SG.It had a bad heat sensor and they replaced it and tweaked the tuning. Jim also said the Heavey Breather was causing a little turbulance at the intake and recomended putting the Big Sucker back on. That thing is right on time now. I NEED the 107 bad. The wife just keeps laughing at me when I fire my new ride up.[:@]

All good things come to those that wait. I will keep you guys up to date. I would like to get this thing done soon.

ok, here's my two cents !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! since you already have the HQ-TC 500-HC cams, just upgrade to the HQ107T kit, it uses the smae cams, and you will not be disapointed what so ever, or if you deside to upgrade the cams, they will be easy enough to sell !!!

Well, that sounds good except the tc 500 cams are in the SG... That my wife stole from me...When she decided she liked it better than her 07 Road King Classic. Now I hav a new 08 Road Glide that replaced her 07 RKC. So the new RG is bone stock and just turned 1000 miles. I know... it was kinda hard to follow.

By the way... Sweeeet Ride....

Absolutely, go with the 30 tooth EVO engine sprocket. It changes your gearing from 2.79 to 3.15, which was stock on the pre-07's. It does raise the rpms to 2900 at 70mph but nothing that is unbearable, even on a long trip. It is much easier to pull away on a grade, easier to do slow speed manuevers and when twisting it up, it is a huge difference.

As the others have said, go with the complete package and if you go with the complete 107 package you can run the 575 cams. Even in my 120 they have a very niceidle and the torque really comes on as you pass 2000 rpms, especially if you go with the Fatcat.

I am running the 50mm throttle body and really doubt if I am going to go bigger, it just runs to good right now to think about making a change. The 50mm will be fine for your build.

Good luck!

I'll be putting a Fatcat up for sale on the forum next week. It has less than five hundred miles on it. You can PM me if you're interested. Love the fatcat, but I decided to go to a bigger engine, so I'll be getting a D&D Boarzilla. Good luck on the build.

How big are ya gonna go? If your 120 " or less, yaprobably want to stay with the FarCat. The Boarzilla is really only for 120" or bigger. Torque junkies will definitely want to keep it a FatCat, as it is a very torque oriented pipe. On a 120" or 124" motor it will be more of a Hp pipe, higher displacement motors, it will more of a Tq pipe.......ya see where I'm going with this......less restriction.....more Hp.......more(but not to much)restriction......more Tq....
