Got my butt kicked by the wind today
It's the wind surfing Mecca of the West for a good reason.

The same wind blowing these boys (and girls) around is quite a rush on a bike.
I love going in and out of the tunnels on Washington's highway 14.

I blew buy a ST1300 completly leaned over from what felt like30 - 40 mph blowing windfrom my right side... girl friend was not impressed...

I was in the fast lane, (actually, Ilive there; but no worries, you need not be concerned about me being in your way...), leaning into a adeep right hander, when I caught a "slow down to 55 mph" sign out of the corner of my eye.Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending upon your perspective),I am already comitted, leaning into it at80 mph. Adding to thechallenge, Mother blows a gale, hitting my left side as I am leaning her into the turn, and releases me, as I amrunningthe line through the apex. Got-dam. Icame out of the turn on the shoulder, which was fortunately, clean and about six feet wide; I used every bit of it.
I maintained the speed limit, (kinda, sorta), the rest of the way home. I learned what a light touch will do for ya in the wind.Dont over compensate or anticipate.Be light, ride ez. Use your throttle for extra fun.
In all of the winds I have been through, and I would challenge anyone to name a space with more intensity: Deming, (got-dam), Arizona. Ride through that space in the fall or spring and anything else will be a peice of cake.
Good time? Not sure about that...wore me out....BUT Definately memorable....
