Was riding from Morgan Hill, CA, to Monterey today. Man, was the wind ever so fierce!! I don't know what the gust were but I was leaning well past vertical into the wind and was still being blown all over the lane. It was AWESOME!! I haven't had that much fun on my bike. Sure, the thought of totally biting it and smearing myself on Highway 1 kept playing through my mind but I didn't care. I felt like one of those old, crotchedy sea captains piloting his boat into the eye of a storm. Thank God for windshields.
I hear ya about ridin' in the wind. The trades blow pretty strong out here in Hawaii at times and I just twist the throttle a little more and lean into it. It's a blast!

There was a movie "Lonesome Dove" and they were driving some cattle across a plain and a huge storm was blowing in and Robert Duval said; "time to find out if you were supposed to be a cowboy".

Maybe its just me, but I can't stand the wind. I'm not talking about the wind in your face feel of a bike; I love that. But for some reason it just ticks me off when I take a blast of wind from the side. Its ususally a cold blast too, which probably has something to do with it.
