We will be completing the purchase of our new Red/ Red Ultra this week. Any suggestions on options? We are getting the Security System but opted not to take the one with the Antilock Brakes. Thanks!
Driver Back Rest, Tourpak luggage rack, LED Spoilers on bags and Tourpak and the turn signal conversion to running lights
system. Have them and love them all.
I just purchased an Ultra also and I specified ABS. They are a great safety feature and will greatly help you avoid any lockups. I have tried them out the last couple of days by doing a lot of emergency stops and not once did the rear wheel lock. Ask the dealer to show you the DVD they have on ABS and I'm sure you will be convinced to take them. The security system is a must and works well.
I got the mid frame heat deflectors, they helped a lot in hot weather. Heated grips, luggage rack for the tour pak, Highway pegs for me and the missus (Kuryakan), George Anderson tour pak relocator and the XM radio upgrade.Added a Zumo 450. BTW. I was talking to a cop the other day, and he said that the Michigan State Police tested 08 baggers with and without the ABS. The ones with ABS took 20ft longer to stop at 60mph on dry pavement. He said that there is supposed to be an ABS computer adjustment to correct the problem on the way. see ya Ken
Hogtunes speakers. Also might as well get the tourpak detach kit installed or at least purchased. If you carry a passenger alot, order a mustang extended arm passenger backrest. they are about 2" longer on the arms and my mrs says well worth it. look at cee bailey's reverse curve windshield. i really like mine. most of all....enjoy it!!!
I'm taking my 08 ultra to Rich's in seattle to have the seat re-worked this week. The stock seat is really soft and musshy, I slid foward on the seat as I brake hard or hit a bump. I didn't get abs either, It's a personal choice.
I got the ABS and security. Also added the rider essentials package that has the rider backrest, tour pak rack windshield storage pouches and a tour pak organizer and a stage 1 upgrade. Love the color combination. Looks amazing in the sun.
