I had mine come loose on the road. I removed the peg on the toe lever, the heal lever and turned it around and slid it in place with the other lever there. I tie-wrapped the two together and off I went. I replaced the shaft and the lever and I'll be d@mned if it didn't do it again.
The lever is as tight as can possibly be. I like to have never got the d@mn thing on there. Like Phil said, there was lots of chrome in the splines.
I am just going to remove the inner lever, put a bushing in there and use the lever on the outer position...
I had the transmission end come loose on my EGC at about 600 miles the linkage fell forward onto the floorboard support and rattled. I thought I lost the nut but oddly enough only the front connection has a lock nut. Go figure....
i don t know how hard it is but my shifter rod was replaced under warranty the toe shifter was ok the heel shifter walked and stripped the end.it appears that the labor for warranty repair was 1 hr but i don t know how warranty compares to if they charged me as a customer.this is the first time i ve wver had with a shifter that i did not cause myself.i believe it was not torqued properly at the factory you can tighten as musc as you want it wont help.i put teflon tape on the end and tightened down so if i did hit it in error because i always use the heel shifter i did not want the dealer to think i did it and not cover it but they gave me no problem at all they were very pleasant..it only has 4000 miles on it.i also have a 2004 and never had a concern yet so i have not changed my riding habits when i ride ti 07 vs the 04
