Default Howards Hog Horn

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problens related to Howard Hog Horns on a touring bike.
I really like the horns but the braket ate my fuel line. I have modified the bracket and I hope it works.

I used the rubber gromet (sp?) normally used for the stock cowbell horn, as I have heard that sometimes that solid mount breaks if you don't. Makes perfect sense, as that horn is pretty hefty. Sticks out a little further, but I shouldn't have any mounting failures.

The only other issue I had was a bug or some other unidenified object made its way into the small horn of the dynamic duo, and the horn ceased to function. Not a hard fix, simply removed the back, cleaned the diaphram, reassembled, and everything was golden. I bought the covers after that. Don't like the look quite as well, and they are cheap plastic, but I haven't had a horn failure since.

I like them. I did have to make a better bracket and move them back off my lowers. They have saved my butt on several occasions. I highly recommend them. Very loud and I like the chrome.

I had the original set of Howards Horns break but they stood behind the and replaced them under warranty. When reinstalling the horns the company supplied an additional isolation mount which I didn't like so I used a new stock isolation mount under both the mount bracket and the cowbell/compressor cover. onlyproblem was now the choke cable had to be repositioned. The horns are now holding up great and are real effective on inattentive drivers.[sm=biker2.gif]

Don't get me started again, never had Howards, but BJs are crap, finally just went with the HD air horn, not as loud, but it "works",

Hey Uncle, did it to mine also. I ended up buying the chrome and steel line set up, looks better and have had no problems since either. Been about a year now.
