So here is the deal. Bought an 07 Ultra a few weeks ago. It was a nice day, so I drove it home (94 miles from dealer). Then the weather turns to crap for the next week and a half before I get to ride it again (that was the hardest part). Last week I took it for a short ride and hear and feel a big clunk (for lack of a better word) and then nothing---it still runs but don't go.
Well, I call the dealer and they come get it. The dealer called Sat. and says it's fixed--come get it.
I went yesterday and picked it up. I asked what happened and they tell me the bolts holding the final drive sprocket to the rear wheel sheared off. They had to replace the entire wheel (spoked), and the sprocket. Total bill of about $800.
I asked is this common(as I reminded them that they just replaced the rear tire and did the 10k service). They said it was very unusual andthe service manager had never seen that happen before.
AllI can say is THANK GOD FOR WARRANTY as it only cost me a few hours of my time.
I had a new tire put on 3 weeks ago. On the way home my Rinehart 2 into 1 fell off. WTF. They forgot to tighten the two bolts under the saddlebag..........
Had the front stabalizer (sway bar) on my Grand Prix changed by Bell Tire. There was a clunking noise coming from the front end. Before I could call them, the manager called me at work and said the mechanic came in and was worried that he forgot to tighten it.
Mechanics are like Managers, just because they got the job don't mean their good at it.

I go through this all time time when I ask my guys if they have finished the job, they all say we are done, and I say your done, but are you finished, there is a big differance................
Why didnt I read this thread sooner, it just happend to my 2007 Ultra 2 days ago.
Bought on January 2007, over 24 months already, I hope the dealer want to cover the warranty.
Stock sprocket and wheel, 9,800 miles, services at dealer (because the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd services are free).
