Last night was just a 20 minute return jaunt to test the shield and get the motor hot for an oil change. Today I put a few hundred clicks on the bike and tomorrow will be a ride on 22 Northwest of Sundre and back. Should be a nice ride tomorrow. Gonna tape it as my spring ride.
Sure is a lot of you kissing up to Joe. Whats up with that. 12" is a POS in my opinion.
Customer service, WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I emailed them with a picture of mine like they asked and they said they would get back to me.3 calls to them and never a call back from them. And they had my # and email address.
Anyone that wants to try a 12", give me $75 or anything worth something as a security deposit, and try it far a while. I suspect some of you won't waste your money on it after you try it.
I have no proof to state that your experience has been anything other than what you have stated here. We are busy and we do receive a lot of emails. However that is no excuse and you should receive better service than you say you have.
If I had received your email or call I would ask you this. Would you like to try the 8" version? I have had people who choose to buy the 12" hated it, tried the 8" and loved it. And vise versa. The offer is there, let me know if you would like to try it. My email is service@kustomcycles.com
Windshields look good, butI`mwondering if the klockwerks windshield on the Road Glide would clear the Harley radar detector, I would hate to buy it and then find out it wouldn`t clear.
I emailed Klock Werks about this issue, and never recieved a responce, maybe I should forget it, But any help would be great, thanks, Steve
We installed an 8" shield on a customers bike during AZ bike week and he had the HD radar detector. He went with the solid black screen because the shield and the detector did touch. It did not push the shield up but they did touch. I had a customer who relocated his so they didn't touch. Unfortunately at this time I cannot say yes or no to you about the fitment on your bike.
Thank you all for your input and thanksto those of you who take the time and offer up your personal experience when riding with one of our windshields. We need the feedback as much as the members here do and hearing the negative feedback is just as important as the positive.
OK, I got a 12" KW shield because of the info I got both here and I believe on their website. First off, the shield looks second to none and is built well. That said, I was really disappointed with it. I had read that a 6'3" person with this shield would have a calm pocket of air with all of the dirty air being directed over his head. At 6'4" I took a full blast of air right at chin level. Not at all what was advertised. Just my $.02 tho....
I just got my RG in January. I am vertically challenged at 5' 7". I tried the KlockWerks 12" tinted shield. It looks KILLER on my Pewter Pearl Glide...but as for functionality....UMMM...not quite as advertised. Like was said previously...wind hits you right across the eyes and ears....no buffeting...just lots of windnoise on the ears. I have noticed that the faster you go, the better it works! I duck my head down just a bit and the wind just dances in my hair, but who wants to ride all day with their head scrunched on their shoulders? It does look KILLER, but even for shorter guys, it doesn't seem to direct the air over your head like it says its supposed to. Just my take. For longer rides I'd probably stick the stocker back on....but for running around town and stuff....it looks good and SORTA works.
