Ordered a couple new Klock Werks smoked windshields 10 days ago and they both arrived today. Got a 6.5" flared for the Streeglide and an 8" flared for the Road Glide. Both willbe be installed tomorrow night. I'd do them now but I'm getting primed for Game 7between the Calgary Flames &San Jose Sharks.
Service from Klock Werks was great and they came very well packaged. AAA+
Let me know how your buddy like's the 8" KW once the snow goes. If he wants to know, I'll let him know how the Clearview GT Large is. It should be here Wednesday or Thursday.
OK I'm really Bummed out cause the Flames blew it tonight, but the good news is the Ride's gonna look so much better with the new Klock Windshield. If only this stupid snow would leave for good!!!

Stupid snow...
Monday I was in to my dealer and talking with a friend at the parts counter. He'd bought a 8" Klockwerks shield for his 08 roadglide and said it looks cool as hell....but it's completely worthless for protection. He said the harley 6" deflector offers better wind protection.
They do look wicked and I'm sure the Klock Werks shield works as good if not better than the short HD shield. It was tested in the wind tunnel and as far as I know, the results are available to anyone who needs them. IMHO, if you're going for the short style you are going to sacrifice some protection anyways, but looking cool can often overshadow the need for a full cocoon in front of you.
Now that Hockey is done and our team is golfing, how bout you come over and put your own damn shield on? I'll be home tonight doing some work on my bike and you're welcome to come over. Bring a Keg! (lol)

When we sell a windshield to a customer over the phone or in person we really have to give a quick lesson in aerodynamics. We try to explain the difference between clean air and dirty air in reference to air turbulence.
With a short HD or any short aftermarket windshield, is the wind in your face? Yes. With our short windshields, is the wind in your face? Yes. The difference is when our windshield matches the rider the wind in their face is not as turbulent as withflat windshields. Everyones experiencecan bedifferent depending onseveral variables.
As far asyou friend behind the parts counters comment about the flat 6" offering better protection. I know for a fact that just is not true. Neitheraerodynamically nor in regards to front end stabilityon the HD road glide fairing.
But I don't know your friend or how he rides. The windshields do have their limits. I had one gentleman in AZ who really wanted the 6.5" windshield for his motorcycle. He test rode the shield on his flhx for about an hour. It just didn't work for him. He stood6' 7" tall. I'm 6'4" tall and we both have the same inseam. So he has an additional 3" of height just in his torso. The shield works for me but was just too short for him. Just because the windshield was not for him does not mean it was worthless.
The sale of these windshields has been an education process for both the customers and for us. Wemake every effort toeducate the customer as much as possiblebefore the sale. We have had customers ask if we are going to make shorter and taller versions. Our answerto that is that we will do so provided we can produce different height windshields that function aerodynamicallylike the windshields we offer now. Which means more testing in the wind tunnel. So time will tell.

Joe I really have to hand it to you, you are probably one of the most devoted guys when it comes to helping guys out with your products, or clarifying problems that may arise. I wish more companies took the time to see what people are saying about their products and aren't just there to take the money and run so to speak. Just thought I would comment on that because it is hard to find these days. Completely satisfied customer of the 12" Flare on my RG, great product.
We are out in the shop right now and just finished installing the shields of both the Road Glide and Streetglide. They look great and the fitment is awesome. Just came in to grab the camera so I could take a couple pictures. Offers better protection on my SG than the stock 4" and it looks dead sexy as well. I'll have to wait till this weekend to test ride but will post some feedback when I've had the chance to ride it. Pictures will be up in an hours time cause I'm eadin back out to the shp for another beer. Thanks for a great product.
I'm considering the 8" or 12" Klock Werks on my Road Glide. I have a Sirius satellite receiver on the top of the dash just above the stock radio. It mounts just like a radar detector and is roughly the same size. How much space is there between the Klock Werks windshields and the top of the dash?
