Default Rear end wobble. Just a thought ??

Everyones on the whole stabilizer thing and Im not opposed to them but...why not make the swingarm out of tubular stock than square stock. Wouldnt this take the twisting out ? Why not put a brace on it while theyre at it and make it outta thicker steel.

The swingarm isnt twisting, its the rubber isolation system that yaws or twists, and the stabilizer systems will only allow the swingarm to move vertically with the engine/trans since the swingarm is kinda mounted to the trans.

hi its not what the swingarm is made of ,its how and what ismounted to it , spherical bearings orcleveblocksand rubber bushings, transmission , torque all add up to wobble

Yeah I agree the mounting has alot to do with the handling but Im gonna have to disagree and say that if the stock was shaped different the effects would be alot less. Also ever notice on sport bikes they have braces on them.

I was referring to sport (japanese) bikes. NOT sportsters.

There are many who have suffered the slow wobble. Mine did it once at 84 Mph on a slow turn on the interstate with 20+mph crosswind.

I controlled it by decreasing the throttle some.

I think being sure that tire pressures, fall away adjustment, swingarm bearings and motor mounts contribute to this. Just becuse a bike is new don't take for granted that it was properly set-up from the dealer.

It has nothing to do with the design of the swingarm, its the "FL" isolation mounting thats the problem. The jap bikes dont mount the swingarm to the back of the trans, or for that matter, suspend there engine in rubber isolation either. If you look at the Buell engine mounting system there are 3 stabilizer link points versus 2 on the HD FL system.

I have heard quite a few of you experiance the wobble at high speed. My question is, have any of you experianced this with a passenger on the back? Would the extra weight on the rear wheel make any difference? Are there any warning signs or does it just suddenly occur? You now have me worried to take the wife on the back of the RK after that was the main reason I bought it.
