This sucks
stop at the HD dealer where my "06" EG Standart waits for a radio to come in so it can be installed. Im looking at my bike, just thinking "it's mine" when I cant help but notice a scratch in one of the saddle bags. I get the sales gal and show her, she says "we can buff that out". Buff my ***!! I told her, when I pick up the bike, if I see any imperfections, Im not accepting the bike. Im not faulting the dealer, but Thats unacceptable.
When I picked up my eg standard they had three of the same color sitting on the floor and my salesman and I went over all three to picke out the one that looked the best. Then after it came out of the shop from having the radio put in I went over it again to look for blemishes. You invest too much money in these things to have imperfections in them.
I had a similar problem with one of the bags on my SG. There was no problem, the dealer ordered a new one under warranty. I took delivery of the bike with the scratched bag, it took a few weeks but when it came in they swapped it out.
When I sent my Ultra in for storage, they go over the bike and do a visual inspection.
They marked down on my sheet that there were no visible defects. So when I pick it up, if there is the slightest scratch on it, they will fix it the right way. Like sleepman said, you spend too much money to end up with imperfections.

Picked up my bike a couple of weeks ago and drove it home on a Friday, get out in the garage the next morning to clean it and find a 3" rounded crease in my fender from the mechanic dropping the headlight while switching it out. Naturally the mechanic had no idea how the dent got there but it was fairly obvious from the size and shape of the dent. If it had been a tool dropped on the fender, prolly would have had a ding and paint chip, but the rounded edge of the headlamp made a lasting impression[:@] Service manager asked if he could give Dent Wizard a try to get it out and I said sure, as long as it looks like new, needless to say they ended up replacing the fender. Lesson learned for me........I will always request a service employee check my bike over with me at drop off and pick up, and it will be done outside in the sun, not under the white stadium lights.

I'll let them do what they think they need to do. I was sucked to see that. I am glad I saw ir before it got delivered. When the call me to tell me it's all set, I'll go over it with a fine tooth comb. Mabe the buffing works. I'll give them their due.
