Default Changing Brake Pads on 06' Classic

Anybody have a "How to" on changing the front disc pads on a 2006 Electra Glide Classic?

Might I suggest you pull out your copy of the Harley service manual, and look up "brake pad replacment". It will walk you through, you shouldn't have any problems.

When you buy Lyndal brake pads, they include a step by step instruction sheet which is very well written.

ditto the SM.

Here is a link to the Lydall website that includes pad R&R on the front calipers:

http://www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/service_tech.htm

It contains a significant error, though it's fairly obvious.

Also, it doesn't explain how to do the rear caliper.

The HD pads come with excellent instructions--stop by the dealer and ask him to print out the instruction sheet for you--he'll have the PN for the pads you need--the front and rear are the same.

While you are replacing the pads, it's also a good time to use a good quality brake cleaner to clean the calipers, including the pistons.

But, as others have suggested, buy the SM. And welcome to HDF.

From experience! At least with Lyndall pads for the REAR. You have to push both pads in together. Because of the spring clip in the base of the caliper, if you try to do one at a time, you'll never get the second pad in!
