I've got the Mahatzu (sp?) aftermarket tour pac and it works quite well with either a permanent or detachable HD mount. I used the detachable mount and have the bike setup so I can use a sissy bar/rack combo around town and the tourpac on trips. The quality isn't as good as a HD tourpac, but it works just fine for my use.

you will also need to rear docking points, your detachable backrest mounts to the forward ones.
