Default Rubber on pipes

Somehow the sole of my boots touched the heat shield on my pipes and melted on them.
How do I get the rubber imprint off, any suggestions.

get the bike nice and warm....so your pipes are hot...then get out the ez-0ff oven cleaner....spray it on a rag...DO NOT spray on pipes...if over spray gets on paint kiss it goodbye...but doesn't hurt the chrome...as long as pipes are hot should take the rubber off without a problem...I melted a rain suit onto my pipes once and this worked like a charm...no scratches or anything once it was cleaned off...

Thanks! My wife's boot hit my pipe and left a small scuff mark. Just enough to annoy me. Thanks for the tip!

Read the same tip in American Iron. Only they suggested spraying on cold and letting it sit overnight. Said it would wipe right off in the morning.

I heard about it here and it worked great. Scrape it off with the edge of a penny. The penny is softer than the chrome and doesn't scratch it.
