Doug, I'm kind of interested in the SSC series winshield. I like the look of the 12" opaque black SSC on your Street Glide but was wondering what the lowest or smallest height winshield they have avaialble? Is it the 9"?
Jeff,
The lowest size that they have listed on their website is 9". However, they made a 13" dark smoke for me, even though 12" is the tallest size that they had listed. They also made an opaque black for me even though it's not listed. In view of this, I'll bet that they will make any size that you want. Their customer service is outstanding.
Hey Doug, awesome review on the SSC. I tried a post on this a while back and never got a reply from anyone who tried it. Your pic looks much more dramatic than on CEE BAILEY'S site. Really like the design, very innovative, kinda like a Corbin Trim Tab. Worth the extra $$$ for sure if it works as claimed. The prices are pretty reasonable on the standard shields as well considering they are thermoformed and not flat! I'd say the SSC ROCK's!
To be honest, it was your thread that first got me interested in the SSC. I had never heard of it until I read your post. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Definitely alters the look of the frontend for sure, however anyone wishing to use a windshield bag won't be able too. Let us know how it works when riding 2-up.
I placed my order for a 9" Dark Gray SSC windshield today. I was told I'll see it in a week and a half.
I'll give you feedback on how it looks and quality of it once installed. Unfortunatly it will be some time yet till I can ride and evaluate the function of it. [:@]
Thanks for the heads up on these UGGA. I really like the streamlined look they give the fairing...and the fact you can get laser etched artwork done to it. I can definately see one of these in my near future....Just one thing I gotta know first. Does the reduced turbulence also make the stereo sound better?
The good looks, combined with a better sounding stereo, will pretty much assure me I'm buying one.
I like the look of it too, but it seems a little bit pricey isn't it??
Bob
It doesn't seem that bad to me considering I spent $90.00 on the Harley Davidson 4" opaque black wind deflector. It sure looked cool, but it was worthless for blocking the wind; and I couldn't hardly hear my stereo on a windy day.
I have a 9" and it is not high enough to keep the wind out of my face. Still $130.00 or so for one of these, and I only have $30.00 in my 9" one.
