cheap exhaust mod Dumb question
I have just taken delivery of an 08 RG and I was wondering if there is a CHEAP exhaust mod? On my old Vstar I just drilled out the pipes. Worked Great. Anything I can do for a HD that won't hurt my engine?

Dont take this the wrong way but you spent a lot of cash on a great bike why would you want to go half *** on exhaust mods? for less than $300 there are a lot of options besides drilling out your stock mufflers.Wild pig slip ons can be had on ebay for less than $200 and from what i read on here they sound great. Congrats on the bike man and have fun tricking it out.Ray

I would run your bike stock for now, save money for some slipon mufflers.With 4 little ones in your house it may take a little time to save. You should keep your stock mufflers uncut because the E.P.A. is coming along with smog & sound testing some day.

Hold on to your stock pipes,check out Ebay for a set of of stockers that
you can experiment on. Cheap money,and you can buy a good set of mufflers

Bought the 2 1/2 superflows mufflers - well worth the money. Awesome sound $160 + shipping.
Having said that I'm sure your local dealer will have some touring take-offs that you could buy cheap. I know thats how Bobvic at superlow mufflers gets hold of his.
At least then you get to keep your stocks
