yes, dhutchinson, wheres starsky? lol
yes yes yes, i got screwed, and i have a lot of friends whom would gladly hurt this indvidual, to keep me outa it leagaly, but he's not worth it, he has created his karma, he'll pay in the end.

yes, i bought it privately, if it came from a dealer, and they did not disclose the flood title, i would have them closed down
i can sue the snot outa this guy, but, the attorneys want their 1/3 of the money, unless they can prove the fraud in court,
which, there is a high probablilty it will be proven, but a 1% chance it wont, and that 1% could cost me 5200.00!, and i'll have to give the bike back. if i win, with no proff of fraud. it dont make finacial sense to me.
i'll just keep it, eat my crow, and deal with it.

i only spoke to one dealer about the book value, who told me it has no value, that is thier opinion, but i dont want to waste anymore
time going to other dealers, and getting false hope.
for now, i love the bike, maybe next week something will go wrong and i'll burn it, who knows.
lesson learned

My brother had totaled his pan head in sturages last year .He took 5 k less then the insurance offered just to keep it from a salvage title .He plans on keeping it another 20 years .Parts for a pan are hard to find .He took 13 k and keep the title.

I'm hearing some good responses here. I hadn't thought about my insurance. That would really suck to hear them tell me the bike was worth 1/2 of what I paid for it. I guess this is something that I don't want to deal with. I'm sure the bike is fine, I just don't need the headache of insurance, DMV or dealerships when trading in someday. I'll keep looking for one with a straight title. Might just end up and buy a new one. I did see on EBAY a sweet 2003 Aniversary Edition. God I love that silver/black paint!

Take your time. You'll find the right bike for you. If it sounds to good to be true GUESS WHAT????????

Lots of good clean used bikes at a fair price with tons of mods already done. Ebay, search in your area only, same with cycletrader.com

Lets ride

well heres an insurance company for you....
My insurance agent inspected and photographed my roadking that has a salvaged title....
they then sent the info out and it took over a week to get a policy written on a salvage title....
when asked she informed me that the inspection sheet and pics where for appraisal porpose due to the title...
the policy on the salvage bike meets state requirements and replcement value on the bike which ended up being double what i payed for it...
so dont let the insurance scare you off.....

What William said! If you get your ducks in a row with the ins. co. & have appraisals, there won't be any nightmares with a claim.

I hope you never have a claim. Keep all your papers from your insurance agent & company. A Shark I mean Lawyer will eat you alive on a liability claim with a salvage title bike. Also always keep those papers the rest of your life. If someone buys that bike 30+ years from now you can be held liabily. This is true in most states.

Many others than you think its worth the risk. I like sleeping at night. I'll lose sleep over 3,000,000 not 3,000. We all have a price.

Just my 2 cents in Kentucky

Insurance agent in Kentucky for 28 years. I'd ask you to insure with Snakefarm I mean Statefarm. I won't insure a salvage title bike. I've worked to hard for you to say I never told you what would happen. I ask & have you sign a statement. Snakefarm agents just want your money. They have a team of lawyers that will deal with you after the fact.

I've taken this very personal. So I'll not reply to this again. I love to ride. In Kentucky riders reject all medical coverage to get cheap insurance. After a cage runs them over with no insurance they start asking all the questions. TOO LATE!!!

I pay over a $1000 a year to cover 2 bikes with all the coverage I can buy. If I did like most it would be $400 a year. I LOVE TO RIDE.

I do have an advantage here as the bike was stolen and stripped when rebuilt it was rebuilt with genuine harley part
I have the reciepts for both parts and labor....
I do believe my insurance agent who is my neighbor and friend has my best intrest in mind...
I wish i only payed 1000 a year for my bikes but its a little more substantial than that(almost double on three bikes)
