If ya ain't comfy on a long run, you STILL have the wrong saddle - period. Don't care WHO made it, if ya ain't happy IT AIN'T RIGHT!!!

An' if ya think HD parts are pricey, jest go down an' price a service fer a BMW - ask 'em what it costs ta do a tune-up.

Me? Ah've done a coupla miles on GL1800's...lahk almost 200k from '96-2007. Mah '07 UC has 15k on it now.....4k of it in a 10-day period last summer....

2 of the things on your HATE list are of your own doing.

I had the chance to spend all of 5 minutes on an LT a month or so ago. It is a big bike, seemed much bigger than my Ultra. I liked it except my legs felt like a Thanksgiving turkey after the wife gets it all folded up for baking. 5 minutes was enough for me.

My buddy bought a BMW K1200 GT last year, traded in his 03 Fatboy. He didn't like the comfort level of the Harley and thought that some Harley riders were just posers. He also thought HD parts were too high.

Well, the bike is nice. We rode from Austin to Memphis last year, by way of northern Arkansas, and his bike really excelled in the twisties. But... he thinks the stock seat sucks, and he is disappointed in the level of accessories available for the bike. Plus, he needed an adjustment while on the ride, and found the dealers are few and far between.

People bitch about the cost of upgrades, but they don't understand how lucky HD riders are, we have a ton of stuff to choose from and get to set up our bikes exactly the way we want them. That's especiallyimportant to me because I'm 6'4" tall, and stock bikes just don't fit.

Chose my EG over the K1200LT (GT) for following reasons. 1) better dealer networks and dealers. 2) Floor boards means I can move my legs around so much more comfortable on a long ride. 3) easier - relative - to do my own service work. 4) I now enjoy the ride as much as the riding. There is so much to see out there. No regrets except having to fork out to the HD or the aftermarket to make a good bike into a great bike. Note, I also still have my Concourse, its only worth about $3000 so why sell.
