Default What type of Relay/Switch do I need?

I went to post this quesion in the DIY forum but for some reason all of the sections are Read Only for me. So here goes.

I'm adding the Radio Shack siren on my 05 Classic but I want to add a sllight twist. I want to be able to toggle the siren On/Off so I don't wake the world when the bike is at home. ( I tend to forget the security is on)

My first thought was a simple toggle switch, but that would allow the siren to be turned off at any time by anyone. I'm looking for suggestions for the right type of relay/switch to toggle the siren only when the ignition is on.. What I'm looking to do is:

* Install a momentary push button to a switched power source.
* Pressing the button once would activate the "relay" so the siren is active.
* Pressing the button again wouild de-activate the power to the siren.

All of the relays I've seen are 'momentary' depending on if power applied to the coil. Does anyone know of a relay/switch that will toggle and 'stick' when the coil gets power? The idea is to be able to activate/deactivate the siren only when the ignition is on.

Any thoughts or ideas would be helpfull.
Thanks
Steve

I think what you're looking for is called a "latching relay".

google search on that term will bring up a number of suppliers

Don't think this will work for what you want to do. The relays will require power so when the key is turned off the relays will pop back. If you wire them hot all the time to stay latched your battery will be dead by morning.

Your best bet would to be to hide a switch somewhere.

some of the latching relays "flip flop".. without requiring constant power..
