Since you have Zumo you won't have any problem with the route I gave you. I've ridden it a bunch of times (used to camp in Townsend), but I verified that mileage I gave you with Mapsource from my Zumo. Great tools ain't they?............

Ok so next Monday the 12th of May my wife and I are going to head out on vacation. We live in SW Louisian and are headed up to Pigeon Forge. We want to spend a few days there riding and then go over to Nasville. We have tickets to see Jeff Dunan in Nasville so it should be pretty cool. My question is what are the must rides around Pigeon Forge? Someone told me all great just pick a roud. I know about deals Gap not sure I realy want to ride it anything that comes to mind?

Depending on which day you're going to Nashville...
If you're into NHRA drag racing...Thunder Valley @ Bristol is 16-18th.
Talk about Earth movers...geezus...6000 HP!!!

Del-rio May have a good bar, I would say Welcome to cocke county. Home of the Fighting Cocke's.

Really you cant go wrong riding anywhere there. Look at a map go from Gatlinberg to Cherokee NC on the Parkway. Casino there if you want to waste a dollar or two. Now if you want to you keep the map handy. You can get from there to deals Gap. IT is one of the best kept secret rides in the area. Again look at a map! 321 is a great road all the way till it turns into gravel going north, go south and it runs into Newport another great ride. Once in Newport one of my favorite rides is across the mountain on I-40 (the gourge). Not for the squeemish on a bike. It is a super fun ride though. Then you can go to Wheels through time and back down to Wears Valley rd and be back into Pigeon Forge in a hour or so.

I worked in Gatlinberg for about 5 years of my life and grew up in Newport. Loved it. Best riding in the US all around it. Just dont be afraid to explore the little back roads. Head to Sevieriville too and dont forget to jump on 25-70 and go to NC from newportjust that road alone is a Great ride. No destination just ride it and relax. Goto Parrotsville and Find the Natural Bridge. Park at the church near and walk under the road!!!! Craziest thing just a small wonder of the area. Forbidden caverns and the Lost Sea is a great trip from there as well. Go to douglas Dam from Pigeon forge too that Is a Great ride as well. Take the tiny back road from Sevieriville it is on a map!!
Just get a Tn Map with great detail on the smmaller roads and go.
I miss Home

My wife and I live outside of nashville and we love to ride up to East Tn for a long weekend. We always ride I40 and get off aroung the Maryville exit. You have to see Maryville Harley. Its the coolest dealer I have seen they have TONS of bikes and really cool stuff to do. We then go through Townsend and come into gatlinburg the back way. Very little traffic and you also avoid red light city. First time we rode it my wife told me to pull over and next thing you know she was in the water. We also attempted to ride to Maggie Valley but casino traffic was HORRIBLE and we turned around. There is also a cool museum in Maggie Valley that has a bunch of bikes. I haven't been there but will next time we are over there in a month or so.

Be safe YOU WILL LOVE IT

We live in S/E Louisiana. Just made that trip last month and will be going again toward the end of this month. As I've been there a number of times, all said is correct, you probably can't go wrong on any rides. The only thing is that when you get back, you'll be saying I wish we would have done this or that, just too many great rides and you will not be able to make all of them. I suggest you look over suggestions posted and plan what you would like personally.

My one suggestion is that you take the Natchez Trace either way (we took it both ways last month and will probably do it again this month, no traffic lights, stop signs, etc.). Seen you will be in Nashville, so it's easy to access the Trace right there in Nashville and take it all the way down to Natchez. From Natchez it's easy to just drop down to I 10 in B.R. or just take hwy 84 (I think that's the right number) across the river to Alexandria.

I'm sure ya'll will enjoy the trip, just ride safe.

If you do the Cherohala Skyway, make sure you go to Bald River Falls, great photo of you and bike...

Might want to double check, but was told the interstates in town are closed to major bridge construction.....messy traffic if so....

Be safe, the Dragon isn't that bad, just ride within yourself and be watchful of others....have your bike paperwork in order, registration, insurance, license....Law Enforcement heavy on the Dragon due to so many accidents ( squids on rockets)....

As many times as we've gotten sloberknockered there you don't remember the name? I guess you are getting too old to go to Daytona too huh?<sfsf> It's the Bobarosa on US 25/70. Bob & Jessie own it. Tell them Larry from Knoxville sent you, they'll treat you like family....really.

Well......I'll be the one to tell ya'...the 15-18 Sevierville / Pigeon Forge is having a 1955, 56 & 57 car show...and the main road in town is about to get verrry busy. Dont let that bother you, I'm heading down on the 15 until the 19. Ride all day, then look at cars and trucks in the early evening. Best of both worlds. I'll do a little search , back a few months ago one of our own here"oldhippie"on the forum went down and we gave him all kinds of roads, directions, things to see, do and eats. The post were quite long. when I find it, I'll modify my message with a link. IF You plan on staying in town you better get reservations, like soon.
Your in luck...I found it...and I see I've been caught riding someone elses bike while I was looking for this thread to post. That 1Harleyrider has connections...
