As it turns out, I replaced my sensor with one off my friends bike. The accuracy was off just as much as mine so,,, that means I have need of a different gauge. Anybody want to get rid of one?

It's not your sensor and its not your gauge. If you want it to read halfway accurate you need to move the sensor down out of the fairing and put it between the forks.
Interesting that moving the sensor outside the fairing didn't help improve the accuracy. My dealer here in PA stated that it was more of a gimmick and a cheap way to fill a whole. He said that it goes back to the early 60's when Caddy and Lincolns had the temp gauge in the dash. My gauge is at least 20 degrees off, but I have not moved mine yet.
