Default Ventillation on a AMP

I just installed a 200 watt rockford fossgate amp in one of my bags on my flht and was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the heat off the amp and what you did to cool the bag or vent it. I don't really like cutting up my bags (hard) but I went for a ride recently and when i got back that amp was really hot.

I once had a problem with a truck I used to have. The amp was under the seat and got so hot it would shut itself off for 2-3 minites. I wired in a mini fan from radio shack to blow air over it and never had a problem after that.

For the sound question... I am not an audio expert but I do know the size of the box and vented non-vented makes a difference. You did not mention if there was a speaker in your bag but here is a website that can help out with speaker vs volume of box and all that happy stuff!

I personally do not want anything in my bags because ofstorage for trips for the wife. However I saw a guy this last weekend with an amp and speaker set up in the bags and DAMN! this thing rocked! I almost changed my mind! but I remembered my wife and well you know the rest!

I would like to amp up but I bought a bagger because I needed the room, wish it could be mounted under the tour pack or in the fairing,

Funny you should mention it. This one fits under the Tour Pak like it was made to go there, runs about $40 delivered on ebay. I had one on my 01 and will be installing one on my 08 as soon as I get around to upgrading the Stereo....
