Default engine noise thru front speakers

I just changed my battery on my 02 Ultra,now whenI turn the key to the on positionI hear distortion noise for about 15 secondsthru the front speakers. After starting the bike the front speakers wont work???all connections are clean and tight... any help??

It sounds like something happened during the battery swap such as a ground wire fell out of the way and therefore over looked or maybe became seperated inside the connector. It definately sounds like your problem is a ground wire that runs from the neg side of the battery into a relay that controls your stereo unless the stereo and the rear speakers work. If it's just the front speakers that don't work, was anybody messing with anything else other than the battery? I have the wiring diagrams if you don't figure it out..

Yes the stereo and rear speakers work.

sounds definatly like a ground problem check there first, maybe something is touching, maybe you main ground wire is chaffed

checked all battery connections...ok ground ok... notice that volt meter is charging at 14 plus volts....... starting to think that voltage reg is cooked... still hear terrible noise when key is switched on...... pulled radio fuse no noise but voltmeter is charging at 14 plus volts

will have to check voltmeter..... destack
