I'm looking at a 2007 leftover new Electraglide Classic, two tone red/black pearl, with security system for $18K what do you think good, bad?? My first Harley not sure how much room there is to negotiate.
The bike is now a year old just sitting there in the showroom. If it got stolen out of the store the insurance company would treat it like a 1 year old bike. Go to Nada and you'll see it has dropped in value for the first year. The bike sold for no more than $18.9 last year brand new. The 08s have IDS, 6 gallon tanks and Fly by wire.. for the same money.
I own one, and like it, but I would advise to not pay more than $17.5 for that bike (max) $17 even would be better. It needs to take at least a $1K hit!
Check out the payments on the 07 then check out the payments on a 08. Look at the MSRP on the 2 bikes. If the dealer is trying to sell a new bike over MSRP I would go somewhere else and with the 07 being a year old and in 2 months it will be 2 yrs old. I dunno. I'd do my homework.
There are a lot of new improvements in the 08. For the money I'd go with the 08, but thats just me.
I'm with the rest; $18K seems a little high. Kelley BB is $16.5K in excellent condition. I'd offer $17.5 if they throw in an IDS install. Otherwise, visit the folks at Paramount HD in Framingham and see what kind of deal they'll make for you.
