Default Help with SC route

Has anybody on here run highway 9 from Wallace to Marion SC? We're leaving for Myrtle Beach Thursday and my Brother in Law doesn't want to ride ANY interstate or major routes to get there. I'm trying to talk him into US 52 to Florence and 601 to Myrtle, but he wants to stay on back roads as much as possible. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
TN Houndog

Where are you entering SC at. I can give you a route. I travel from the Upstate to Myrtle Beach several times a year. Highway 9 is not a bad ride, but there may be a better one.

I live in Kingsport TN and we're thinking of US 421 past N Wilksboro NC, 115 to Statesville, US 70 to Sailsbury, 52 to Wallace SC, and 9 to Myrtle. I've ran all of it at one time or another but 9. I'm trying to get him to run 52 to Florence and 601 to Myrtle, but he wants more backroads.
Thanks,
TN Houndog

Highway 9 is not a bad ride. Watch your speed, they like to run radar around the small towns. If you are staying toward downtown Myrtle Beach or to the south, take Highway 31 between North Myrtle Beach and Loris. It will bring you to the Grissom Parkway which will carry you downtown or exit onto 544 off of 31 and that will carry to the south end. You will miss most of the bad traffic and a bunch of red lights. 31 is a divided highway, but it has very little traffic. I don't think many people know about it.

Thanks for the reply, the heads up on the RADAR traps and Hy 31! I go to Myrtle about 2-3 times a year, but usually run the big road. It's usually I 26 to Columbia, I 20 to Florence and US 601 to the beach.

Thanks again,
TN Houndog
