Make sure you buy the grips for the 08 model I know some styles are not available yet not sure about the aileron style. I havent done it yet so cant help with the rest!
I bought a new RKC 08 and the parts guy sold me the wrong grips. The 08 grips are simple to install, just follow the instructions. Pretty much slide on.
Just did it last week. Piece of cake. The only two items to look out for arefirst, putting a small cardboard piece in the right front brake handle to keep the handle closed slightly. This helps to prevent damage to a little switch in the housing. Second is to make sure that the dust cover cap does not stay in the old right side grip when you pull it off.Other than that, the right side isa piece of cake. The left side, just loosen the screws in the housing and clamp and cut off the old grip and slide the new one on. I put the Chrome and Rubber shield ones on and had no issues. They do not require glue. Just follow the instructions and you should not have any issues.
Very easy install. Just loosen the switch housings and gently but firmly slide out the grips. Replace the new ones on the same way and the tighten housings. Much easier that dealing with cables imo.
08 grips are extremely easy. You'll be fine just following the instructions. Just make sure you take the instructions out of the grip. No sh*t, had a buddy of mine at work doing a grip install and he pulled the instruction sheet from the old set out of the bars when he removed the old grips.
