Default Lowering the RG ?

Hey guys, I have been thinking on lowering the RG, but I have a few questions. 1st ......... how do they ride compaired to stock for 2 up riding? and second, what is all involved with doing it? should I let the dealer do it, or is this some thing I could do myself. I love how they look lowered, but the wife rides with me alot, so if its gonna make it a rougher ride, that's out of the question.

Mine is not a RG but I picked up a lowering kit on e-bay that will allow you to lower the rear 1 inch or 2 inch or 3 inch. I set mine on one inch lower and it rides fine with 2 up.

If your worried about the ride with it lowered, you could always get bag extensions and get the same look with out effecting the suspension or ride quality?

Just a thought?

I can still get my jack under the bike but I have to drive my rear tire up on a 1 inch thick piece of wood. It almost goes under without it. I suppose it matters what jack you have. I have the yellow Harbor Freight jack.

I was looking into it and I wound up just changing the rear shocks.
You can lower the front forks too but I didn't mess with the front end.

Two up ain't bad however, depending on the passenger, I have chirped the rear tire when hitting a bump two up but it is rare.

I did mine back in March of this year with kit I bought off of ebay. Pretty simple piece of hardware. Here is a link to an installation illustration that I did with pictures. It's pretty easy.

Basicly if you lower a Rg you have a Street glide
Lower it you will lose some ride you will lose clearnce and may have some scraping issues from time to time.

I bought a set of one inch lower air shocks from Eastern Performance for $127. They are just like stock, one inch shorter and chrome. I notice no difference in the ride even at two up, which is about 400#.
