Well, my wife and I were at our local HD dealer tonight. Great night to be out on the bike so we thought we would help the local dealer pay his bills buy giving him more of our money. While we pulled in and got off our bike a fellow riding said, hey get back on that bike, I will show you and easy we to get off that thing. I thought this was odd but we did do see what he had to say. Our normal mount and dismount are me get on and then wife climbs on. I make the bike real steady so it doesn't tip, so we hope!!! Same way getting off, I steady the bike and she climbs off. He told us to leave our ELG on it's Kickstand and let her climb on that way. WAY easier for both of us BUT I wasn't real sure if the kickstand was made to handle all of that wiggling around and extra stress. NOT that my wife is a big girl, GOD don't let her think I said that!!!
Anyway, this guy was really nice, just thought I would check will all of you guys out there.
RE: Getting on EGC with Kickstand down, This okay?
I usually steady the bike and the wife gets on, dismount the same way, some like the kickstand down way but not for me, after getting the center stand, it is much easier to mount and dismount, with the center stand the bike stays upright and you can just drive off, saves a lot of space in the garage also
RE: Getting on EGC with Kickstand down, This okay?
When I have the scoot set up for 2 up riding which includes having my riders backrest installed, I step up on the right side footboard, squeezing the the front brake and step over the seat. This way I don't have to swing my leg over the backrest. Once I an on, I right the scoot, squeeze the front brake and my wife steps up on the right passenger footboard and steps over the seat.
When getting off, I drop the jiffy stand, stand up on the right footboard and step off the right side. Then I hold my wifes hand and she stands up on the left footboard and steps down on the left side. All while the scoot is on the jiffy stand.
We NEVER mount or dismount the scoot when it is running. I ALWAYS shut it down.
