Cruise Control & Tach
Anyone know if the cruise control and tach are related in any way? Yesterday I had some speed surging issues with the cruise. Today the cruise worked fine to/from work, but the tach stopped working on the way home. Stopped and restarted engine and needle still stuck at zero. Cruise light comes on and cruise works fine. I've searched but can't find anything similar. I've been through manual and diagnostics and electrical connections seem pretty simple. Not getting any check engine light either. Will tear into the bike tomorrow evening, but thought I'd see if anyone has ever come across this. Thanks.

Cruise control gets its' info from the speed sensor, that is how it adds power on an incline to maintain speed. The cruise control is also limited to a range of 35mph to 85 mph.

You know, they might just be related. You remember the part in the manual that states that if the cruise detects a sudden increase in RPM's, it will shut the cruise control off? Sorry I can't tell you anymore than that.

Speedometer works fine, though, so you'd think a bad speed sensor would show up there. Plus, today the cruise held the speed constant up/down hills. Rock steady.
