ARC Audio Mini Amp
Every amp has that "small print" for the company CYA. I've put numerous amps on sub boxes, no issues...I've put numerous amps in areas where I thought for sure they would over heat but it didn't. Does this mean this particular amp wont have issues...no...who knows until you try though. For a 1/3 of the price (of the other HD specialty amps) I'll give a brand name that I'm familiar withand trust a try first. Plus, I know some little tricks that may or may not work to helpif a problem does arise.
Basically, if you are not sure...spend your money on the other equipment. Like I mentioned before...I can probably sell my stock HK HU and cover the priceof all new aftermarket equipment and I'm certain that it will sound better too.
Because it is 80% efficient there should be little concern on heat dissipation, but I would ask the dealer about a suitable location.
The amp is rated at 70x2 RMS at 4 ohms and is stable down to 2 ohms at 125 watts RMS. Some shops are installing one of these powering the front fairing and tour pack speakers in parallel resulting in a 2 ohm load. This will cause the amp to work harder but it is rated for it and ARC Audio is a high quality brand, above Pioneer, JVC, Alpine, etc.
If you go to Modesto Harley in California Website they offer a complete system install and claim they have tested every system out there and this is the best.
Whats the price of this amp and where can it be bought ?
I've read a number of pro reviews of ARC amps and equipment, and they are first rate. Clean power, low heat and small footprint. Almost sounds like they designed this amp to compete in the faired bike world.
They also have a 4 channel mini to be released very soon, and all indications are that the chassis won't be much larger than the 125.2 mini. That's just the scuttlebutt from a dealer, not the company...
Resto
ARC audio is soon releasing the 4 channel mini not too much bigger than the 2 ch. This amp paired with morrell speakers would be a great match.
